This is getting ridiculous lol
So, here we are again, and guess what? Life is still exhausting. I’m pretty sure I’m living in a never-ending cycle of work, walk, repeat. Four jobs? Yeah, that’s a thing. I mean, who doesn’t want to spend their days in a chicken kitchen at a truck stop? (Not me, that’s for sure.)
Let’s break it down: I’ve got my beloved web development gig, which I genuinely enjoy, and then there’s the truck stop fiasco where I’m flipping chicken like it’s some sort of twisted Olympic sport. And don’t get me started on social media management—that’s a draining affair, let me tell you. Although, the paycheck is good, so I guess there’s that. Oh, and I’m also waitressing and cashiering at this tiny country restaurant where the customers are more challenging than the job itself. So, you know, living the dream lol.
Most days, I’m clocking in close to fifteen hours of work, which is just as glamorous as it sounds. Wednesdays are my golden ticket of freedom, but let’s be real, I’m usually just catching up on laundry, errands, and trying to make my bed look like it didn’t just survive a tornado. And sleeping? Ha! That’s a luxury at this point.
My legs are in a constant state of protest. Seriously, I think they’re planning a mutiny. And walking everywhere? Not too shabby, honestly. Sometimes I enjoy the fresh air, but losing what little free time I have is a bummer. It’s like, “Hey, I could be watching bad TV instead of trudging home again.”
Oh, and family drama? Just background noise at this point. My sister still has a bunch of her stuff sitting around my house, and when I asked her to pick it up, you’d think I asked her to donate her kidney. The overreaction was so dramatic, I half expected her to break into song. But it’s just another chapter in this long, tedious saga, which I’m starting to think might need a ‘no-contact’ clause. Complicated, though, since we work together three shifts a week in this tiny town. Yay for small-town life.
Anyway, I’m just trying to survive long enough to build something better. Ideally, I’d like to get more web development work, ditch the jobs I hate, maybe fix or replace my truck, and have some actual free time. It sounds like a fairytale, but let’s not get too optimistic. I’m not expecting any magic overnight transformations here.
Speaking of which, my truck is still undriveable, so I’m still walking. The other day, I walked past this cute little dog who looked like it was having the time of its life. Like, how do I sign up for that gig? And then I realized I was just staring at it while my feet threatened to file an HR complaint. Good times.
So, yeah. Just another day in the life. I guess I’ll keep trudging along, one foot in front of the other, and hope I can squeeze in some blogging time. Because that’s what I really want to do—write about the chaos of it all and maybe make myself laugh a little in the process. Anyway, I should probably go make dinner and contemplate why I’m still awake at this hour.
